Indeed, the fictional state San Andreas itself is inspired by the sprawling, urban landscape of California that is riddled with its own tales of misdemeanours, gang warfare, police corruption and vice dens. It is, in many ways, a mirror of both California and Nevada and is split into three cities; Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas, which are based on Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas respectively.
